Balleycanoe and Other Good Things.

November 18th was 5 years, on the dot.
We took a drive to Gananoque to "get away from it all".

When we arrived at the Inn they upgraded our room to the Honeymoon suite. Jamie joked "Nothing good ever happens to us".

We had a facial/pedicure combo. Side by Side. Jamie's first.
He said he "felt like a Kardashian".
He's funny.

Later, we went to the Socialist Pig for the most amazing Mulled Cider.
That place is the bomb. Have you seen these kick-ass tables?

Balleycanoe & Co. was the next stop.
An old barn.
Three Floors of architectural antiques and a workshop full of knobs, hinges and other waiting-to-be-repurposed goods.

The owner referred to Home Depot as "Home Dump".
He said "why would anyone want everything shrink wrapped and new when you could have this?".
I think I'm in love.

When we got back to our room they had left us a bottle of champagne. The Good Stuff.
We drank the whole thing by the fire and talked about our incredible afternoon. And our incredible year.
"Another good year" we said.

We had planned to go to a French restaurant for dinner but, in the end, settled on the pub next door.
The French place just seemed too fancy.
Especially for two drunk people.

[All pics are mine except the ones of the Socialist Pig. Those belong to them!]

  1. Awesome! We hit Balleycanoe for the first time and that's where we bought our tin for our backsplash. What a great place.
